Annual Birthday Bash 2012

Despite the weather bureau's promises of rain, the day - Saturday 29th September - arrived with clouds, but no rain. In fact it turned into an excellent day for our annual Birthday Celebrations and the 19 participants had an enjoyable day with the usual good friendship, food and competitions.

This year we ran two competitions, one fun doubles and one more serious singles.
First the fun comp - Peg Out Pairs, also knows as Hurry Scurry  - provided ample exercise for all participants and built up an appetite for lunch.

Following many games, Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals, we eventually arrived at the Final producing the following result:

After a sumptuous luncheon, fortified with the necessary liquid refreshments, coffees, teas and cakes the company decided they were sufficiently charged up to withstand the severity of the Singles Competition.

16 members lines up for the draw and the competition of QUICK SINGLES got on the way.
This was regular Golf Croquet but 7 hoops only, and therefore the first to score 4 hoops would be declared winner of that round.

Quarter Finals and Semi Finals followed and eventually the last two standing contested The Final.

The result was as follows:
