After a magnificent two days, 48 games, wonderful weather and great friendship, Young Croquet Club once again won the
Western District Challenge Shield with
Orange coming in second and
Dubbo taken third place.
We congratulate the 8 very competitive players from Young and look forward to next year's friendship games which will be hosted by Young Croquet Club.
We all gathered eager to get started on a crisp, sunny Saturday morning. The lawns were beautifully manicured, and, as we learned later - VERY fast.
I am sure everyone will agree that these were indeed 'friendship games'.
A special
thank you must go to Lyn Sparkes, with her ever smiling face, who single handed made sure we all were well fed throughout both days.
Apart from a brief moment, where I snapped this picture, I don't think Lyn sat down while busily providing coffee, tea, cakes, biscuits, sandwiches and hot soup.
