It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Fay Williams on 25th January after battling illness for some time.
Fay was a long standing, active member who helped shape the club, becoming our second longest serving President.
She started her first term in August 1992 continuing until August 1995. After a 3 year break Fay was re-elected for a second term in August 1998 and continued her reign until August 2006 - a total of 11 years.
Although Fay was 'brought up' on Association Croquet, she took to Golf Croquet with enthusiasm, relishing the changed format. She candidly admitted that she in fact really enjoyed 'golf croquet', it being more social and friendlier than 'association'.
It can safely be said that Fay played a mean game of croquet, a fact that many members, much her junior can attest to. Despite advanced age there was no stopping her at carnivals, entering competitions - and winning.
She was a great lady and we will miss her company.
